Salado NFL Flag delivers a positive, competitive, and community‑focused game day experience for both coed and all‑girls divisions. Our league follows official 5‑on‑5 NFL FLAG rules and is built around safety, structure, and a fun environment where players can grow, compete, and enjoy the game of football.
Divisions Offered (Fall 2026)
Coed: 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U
Girls Only: 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U
14U divisions are not offered in fall due to middle school football
Age Groups & Birthdate Ranges
Salado NFL Flag uses an August 1, 2026 age cutoff. A player’s age on August 1 determines their division. If a player turns the next age on August 1, they age out of that division.
12U — August 2, 2013 – August 1, 2015
10U — August 2, 2015 – August 1, 2017
8U — August 2, 2017 – August 1, 2019
6U — August 2, 2019 – August 1, 2021
Registration & Team Formation
Registration will open on June 12th and close on August 1st: Register HERE
All players register individually through PlayMetrics.
Each division is capped at 60 players; once full, players are placed on a waitlist.
Team and coach requests are welcome, including full teams from other leagues, but roster spots cannot be held for unregistered players.
Groups wishing to stay together must all register before the division fills.
Players not already on a team will be placed by the League Director as long as space remains.
Communication Plan
Salado NFL Flag uses sportsYou for all league‑wide communication, including:
Weather or emergency cancellations
Schedule changes
Field updates
League announcements
A SportsYou access code will be provided to all registered families after registration closes and teams are finalized.
Coaches may use their preferred platform for team‑specific communication (practice reminders, team chats, etc.).
Cost: $130 per Player
Includes:
Official NFL FLAG jersey
Official NFL FLAG flag belt
All league operating expenses (fields, referees, equipment, etc.)
Additional belts will be available for purchase on game days.
Game Day Experience
No gate fees — free for all spectators
Two referees per field
Game balls provided
All games played in Salado (turf field primary; weather/scheduling may require adjustments)
Minimum of 6 games (5 regular season + playoff)
Playoff Format
Bottom two teams play a consolation gameTop four teams compete in a single‑elimination playoff to crown the division champion
Additional Opportunities
Salado NFL Flag will provide information and guidance for teams interested in participating in NFL FLAG Regional Tournaments or other sanctioned events for families seeking additional competition.
