Why 8U is the Ideal Starting Age

We believe 7–8 years old is the right age to begin learning:

  • safe fundamentals

  • proper tackling technique

  • teamwork

  • confidence

  • and discipline

Players progress through structured instruction designed specifically for young athletes.

This is NOT “old-school football.”

This is modern youth football development - the safest youth football has ever been.

More Than Football

Football teaches boys:

  • resilience,

  • accountability,

  • leadership,

  • teamwork,

  • perseverance,

  • and confidence.

It also gives them:

  • movement,

  • mentorship,

  • friendship,

  • and real-world challenge.

In today’s world, boys need healthy places to grow.

FAQs

Is tackle football safe for 7–8 year olds?

1

Contact sports are not risk-free. Our goal is to create the safest and most development-focused environment possible through modern coaching, protective equipment, structured practice standards, and progressive teaching.

Why do you require Guardian Caps?

2

Guardian Caps provide an additional protective layer and are now used across many levels of football, including college and professional programs.

Are coaches certified?

3

Yes. Head Coaches complete USA Football certification and follow structured safety protocols

Is football too aggressive at this age?

4

We use size restrictions and position protections designed specifically for younger athletes. Kids who exceed weigh specifications can only play on the line.

What if my child is small?

5

Our focus at every age but especially at 8U is development, fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, and learning the game correctly. Youth football is not high collision or violent as top speed for the little guys is about 2.5mph.
